WHAT IS INVISALIGN® CLEAR ALIGNER THERAPY?
Invisalign is a clear aligner therapy that moves your teeth just like braces would. So we can use it to correct any dysfunction in your bite or align your teeth.
HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE TO STRAIGHTEN MY TEETH USING INVISALIGN® CLEAR ALIGNERS?
Invisalign® treatment starts working with the very first tray that you wear. By the time that you’ve gone through five aligners, so about the first 5 weeks of treatment, you are definitely going to notice a difference when you look at yourself in the mirror. That said, treatment times definitely vary depending on the extent of your treatment and can take up to 12 months.
DO I SLEEP WITH MY INVISALIGN® CLEAR ALIGNERS?
Yes, you definitely sleep with your Invisalign aligners in.You actually need to wear them about 22 hours a day so that you can get full results from your aligners.
WILL WEARING INVISALIGN® ALIGNERS MAKE MY TEETH YELLOW?
No, we’ve never seen a discoloration in people’s teeth. What will make your teeth change color is anything that you may eat or drink that causes staining or not taking care of your teeth properly. So you need to do a great job brushing and flossing and you won’t notice any color change in your teeth.
IS INVISALIGN® TREATMENT PAINFUL?
Invisalign® treatment can have a little bit of discomfort but not near as much as what we experience with braces. Typically what will happen is that the first few trays, people will report that there is a bit of discomfort with some of their teeth moving but once you get through those first couple of trays there’s usually no discomfort after that.
DOES WEARING INVISALIGN® CLEAR ALIGNERS ALTER MY SPEECH OR GIVE ME A LISP?
Clear aligners can cause a bit of a lisp to start with. There have definitely been reports of people noticing that when words have an ‘s’ in them, they do notice a bit of a lisp until their tongue gets used to the aligners.
DO I HAVE TO BRUSH MY TEETH BEFORE PUTTING MY INVISALIGN® CLEAR ALIGNERS BACK IN?
Brushing your teeth is a great idea after you have eaten just so food debris doesn’t get caught between your teeth when you put them back in.
DO I WEAR MY ALIGNERS IN THE SHOWER?
You can definitely wear your Invisalign aligners in the shower! And, honestly, you need to wear your aligners all the time except when you're eating and drinking anything but water.
IS INVISALIGN TREATMENT CHEAPER THAN BRACES?
Invisalign treatment is actually approximately the same cost as conventional braces, it just depends on the complexity of your case. Sometimes we’re actually able to charge less than what we would for braces.
HOW MUCH DOES INVISALIGN® TREATMENT COST?
The cost of Invisalign treatment definitely varies depending on the complexity of your treatment. It can start around $3000 up to $6500 in some cases. It’s best to book a complimentary consultation so that we can review all of your options together.
IS INVISALIGN TREATMENT COVERED BY MY DENTAL INSURANCE?
Often Invisalign treatment is covered by Insurance. What we need to look into is if you have orthodontic coverage. If you do, the insurance companies pay for that regardless if it's conventional braces or Invisalign treatment.
